Comment: For the second time, the C-U Edible Book Festival is part of the "Know Your University" lunchtime series at the University YMCA. Local celebrity judges will make awards for literary merit (Fred Schlipf, retired director of the Urbana Free Library), culinary merit (Ashlee Roderick, pastry chef and owner of The Cake Artist's Studio) and artistic merit (Jennifer Hain Teper, Conservation Librarian, UIUC). The Champaign Public Library is providing funding as part of its "Meet A Hero @ Your Library" community reading program, and there will be a special award for the edible book that best represents that theme, as well as a People's Choice award.
