Comment: For the second time, the C-U Edible Book Festival is part of the "Know Your University" lunchtime series at the University YMCA. Local celebrity judges will make awards for literary merit (Fred Schlipf, retired director of the Urbana Free Library), culinary merit (Ashlee Roderick, pastry chef and owner of The Cake Artist's Studio) and artistic merit (Jennifer Hain Teper, Conservation Librarian, UIUC). Comment: For the 7th consecutive year, University of Cincinnati Libraries will celebrate the International Edible Books Festival with an event scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 from 1-2pm in the 5th floor lobby of Langsam Library. At the event, over 20 participants will present edible creations that represent a book in some form. There are few restrictions in creating an edible book - namely that the creation be edible and have something to do with a book. Submitted entries include such edible titles as Stone Soup, Three Cups of Tea, A Raisin in the Sun, and Animal Farm among other literary greats.
